The Rossford Business Association
with the permission of the Rossford Record Journal
Our mission is to serve and support members of the Rossford business community by sharing business knowledge and talents, and capitalizing on the goods and services provided by Rossford professionals to collectively boost commerce and city partnerships.

Hello Rossford business friends,

We are preparing to publish our special “Rossford Report” publication promoting local businesses. It will appear in the September 2 issue of the Rossford Record Journal, immediately before the Labor Day holiday and hometown celebration.

This year’s theme is “Think Local,” and I hope you’ll join us with a profile of your business or organization.

I have attached a flyer that explains the publication – there is a $125 charge for your ad.
I just need a commitment from you by next Friday, August 20, if you’re interested.

Thanks for considering this – we appreciate your advertising support of our community newspaper! And we are glad to help promote local businesses!

Thanks,

Beth Church

We are starting the fundraising process for this year’s Fun At The Fountain to be held on 9/4/2010, but we have a little “twist”.  This year the City of Rossford cannot fiscally justify the cost of the fireworks and has asked the RBA to help raise funds to produce the fireworks show traditionally held the Saturday before Labor Day.  This form is for sponsorship of our Fun At The Fountain as well as the fireworks show.  Credit for sponsorship will be noted in the Rossford Record articles, on any advertising signs and on a large shrink-wrapped bus that will be parked prominently in the Rossford downtown area.  Every year our event continues to grow and last year we had more than 450 attendees who enjoyed beer, food and live music.

I hope that you will join us in making  this event bigger and better as we bring summer to a memorable close!

Thank you –

Ray Miller, RBA President

President’s Update

A special “thank you” to the sponsors of our 2010 Business Fair, Meijer and Bay Park Community Hospital, and to our host, Rossford High School. That special “thank you” is also extended to those who worked so hard on this year’s Business Fair: Brenda Schwind, Cindi Hollie-Selz, John Rust, Angie Jackson, Chrissa Liskai, Dr. Zouhary, the Scouts and the Explorers, Jeff Eberly and all who contributed to making our Fair a success. Everyone that I spoke with, vendor or attendee, felt that the experience was valuable, profitable and enjoyable. This is exactly what we have worked so hard to achieve. The RBA as an organization profited as well with the addition of 26 new members since January 1, 2010.

We are on to our next annual event, “Fun at the Fountain”, which is our end of summer homecoming event. This year’s co-chairs will be Angie Jackson and Cindi Hollie-Selz. I am sure that they can use all of the volunteers they can get so don’t be shy, let them know how you wish to contribute.

The Executive Committee is working on a “Dues Policy” to coordinate our annual membership collection with our “Business Fair” and also in the works are the details of a proposed “Summer Scholarship” program. As always we welcome any suggestions for speakers for our monthly meetings.

We hope to see you all at our next monthly meeting so please check the “upcoming events” tab for time and place.

Welcome to the Rossford Business Association

Nine years ago the Rossford Business Association (RBA) reorganized to support and help generate business activity in our community.  We believe that our members benefit by an active organization promoting the goods and services of our businessmen and professionals.  Over the past few years the RBA has grown dramatically and meets monthly to discuss and create projects that serve our members and the community.

We currently have committees active on several projects such as our annual Business Fair to be held at the Rossford High School on April 10, 2010.  The Business Fair gives our local businesses a showcase for their products and services in a fun and entertaining atmosphere.  The 4th annual “Fun At The Fountain” scheduled for next September, has become a community homecoming event, featuring beverages, food and entertainment.  We will continue to provide scholarships to local high school seniors pursuing educational opportunities after high school and have updated our Business Directory in 2009. (Copies can be obtained at many of our member locations.)

On the civic side the RBA has a Downtown Committee dedicated to revitalization of the downtown district.  A current project is the refurbishing of the Ford Memorial. We also have a committee working on development of the “Crossroads” in association with the developers and the retailers to bring more businesses and shoppers to our area.

If you are a business owner, manager, or a member of an organization in the Rossford area, we would invite you to become a member and an active part of the RBA.  You can view a list of our membership and meeting dates.

Sincerely,

Raymond J. Miller, Jr.
President
